The spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Assembly, Manuela Bergerot, has accused the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, this Saturday of providing “false data” about the impact of Formula One in Madrid.

In statements to journalists, Bergerot stressed that the regional government does not have any environmental, socioeconomic or labor impact report that supports the arrival of the Formula One Grand Prix to Madrid, as the regional Executive itself recognizes in a parliamentary response to More Madrid.

According to Bergerot, the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, made “some promises that are not supported by any type of report,” because there is no report on the environmental, socioeconomic or labor.

“Ayuso’s calculations are false. When he talks about 8,200 jobs, 85,000 tourists, 450 million euros of annual investment, they are invented data. There is nothing behind that,” said the Más Madrid spokesperson.

In addition, he regretted the response that the Madrid president gave him in the Plenary Session of the Assembly last Thursday when asked why she is hiding the inspection records of the Municipal Police on the deaths of the elderly in residences during the pandemic, to which Ayuso replied that they were “putting on a circus.”

“The relatives and victims do not deserve that contempt. We Madrid residents do not deserve that frivolity. Mrs. Ayuso is allergic to truth, justice and transparency and, of course, she does not have an iota of empathy for those relatives of the 7,291 people who died in the residences without hospital care,” said Bergerot.

In January 2023, the Community of Madrid presented a contentious-administrative appeal before the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid to reevaluate the presentation of the minutes of visits by the Municipal Police in nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic. .

On the other hand, Bergerot has celebrated that the labor conflict that led to the closure of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the La Paz Maternal and Child Hospital is resolved “so that health professionals can work in good conditions” and to end “the anguish and uncertainty” of the families whose children must receive care in that service.

The Eighth Section of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has revoked the resolution of the Contentious-Administrative Court number 24 that ordered the reinstatement of Dr. Pedro de la Oliva as head of service of the Pediatric ICU of Peace.

This ICU has remained closed since last January 16, after all the staff doctors assigned to the service, with the sole exception of their boss and a doctor, have taken medical leave or have resigned from their contracts, upon rejoining in the middle of January the head of service in charge by order of the Contentious-Administrative Court 24.

This Saturday, Bergerot accompanied neighborhood associations and environmentalists to plant acorns to renaturalize the environment of Meaques Retamares “as a formula for resilience in the face of the climate crisis” and because “it is good for the health and for the better quality of life of those of the Madrid”.

“We already know that the Popular Party is more about planting asphalt and cement. We are more about defending our natural heritage and lending a hand to plant trees. Thank goodness that when these trees that we are going to plant today are adults, they will no longer be there José Luis Martínez-Almeida and Isabel Díaz Ayuso to be able to cut them down,” he said.
