The August double murdersof Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte outside Moab, Utah contain new information about the initial stages of the investigation. They also include details about a person of concern who authorities ruled out as a suspect.

Grand County officials have not spoken out about the investigation since August. They confirmed to Fox News Digital Tuesday they had ruled out the suspect named in warrants “long ago.”

Two warrants were rescinded by a judge in connection to an early investigation into a man who had ties to the region. Fox News Digital won’t publish his identity as he is ruled out of being a suspect.

Investigators discovered that Turner and Schulte had shared with friends the story of a “creeper”, which was located near their campsite on La Sal Loop Road in southeast Philadelphia. The city has just under 5,000 residents.

Schulte (24 years old) and Turner (38 years old) were last seen leaving Woody’s Tavern in downtown Moab at 10 p.m., Aug. 13. On Aug. 16, they were reported missing. Their remains were discovered by an acquaintance at a mountaintop camping site on Aug. 18. They had both been shot and were partially naked.

According to court documents, the incident in which the Grand County deputy stopped a motorist outside of town was “so unnerving” that the veteran officer did not write the speeding ticket because he didn’t want to look at the man. The man was acting oddly and the women who spoke to him later said that he made unwanted advances that made them feel uncomfortable around him.

He also had ties with the Moonflower grocery shop in Moab, where Schulte was a clerk. This is where Gabby Petito (and Brian Laundrie) got into an altercation days before the murders. According to court records, he had given a rose to another cashier at the store at one point.

Investigators stated that they had ruled him out of being a suspect, despite initial suspicions. They were now looking for other suspects.

Separately, authorities have stated that Petito and Laundrie were not suspects in the murders.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.

Jason Jensen (a private investigator working for the victims’ families) and Sean-Paul Schulte Schulte, Schulte’s dad, asked anyone who was in La Sal Loop Road between August 13 and 18 to look at any cellphone images or dashcams they might have taken that may contain clues.
