A great dinner with about 250 guests in an elegant restaurant next to the Champs-Elysées marked Kylian Mbappé’s farewell to the French capital on Monday night after announcing that he will not continue at Paris Saint-Germain.
The restaurant, called ‘Gigi’, was once called ‘La Maison Blanche’, the White House, so Le Parisien, which reports on the event, wonders if it was not a nod from the football star who seems which is going to be your next team.
The player dedicated a few words to his teammates and family during this great farewell party: “Here we are as a family, all of us who are here consider you all family. There are only loved ones, it will be easy to talk, it will be easy to open my heart, there is no message to miss, there is no ambiguity possible. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and all of you who are here because you have had an influence on me.”
Mbappé and Ousmane Dembelé spent the weekend in Cannes, where the famous film festival is held, since Luis Enrique did not call them up for the last league match, yesterday Sunday in Metz.
The return to Paris of the top scorer in PSG history was for this event, which was attended by many of his teammates, or his brother Ethan – who seems to also leave the Parisian club to go to Lille in search of minutes.
The place chosen was an elegant restaurant located on Avenue Motaigne, between the Champs Elysées and the Pont du Alma. an area of ??luxury shops and five-star hotels.
Keylor Navas, Barcola, Hakimi, Vitinha, Kimpembe, Zaire-Emery, Arnau Tenas, Dembelé, Skriniar, Zague, Pereira and Mendes were among the PSG players in attendance, among whom were also many employees from different levels of the club.
The soccer player’s mother, Fayza Lamari, spoke to journalists after the dinner, where she was asked about her son’s future: “Where is Kylian going to play next year? I think everyone knows that, right?”
Le Parisien assures that the French president, Emmanuel Macron, had also been invited, although he could not confirm his attendance. The captain of France and the president have forged a personal bond in recent years.
Who was apparently not invited was the president of PSG, Nasser al Khelaifi, with whom Mbappé has had several important disagreements over the player’s renewal, which have worsened in recent weeks.
Mbappé did not mention the president in the video in which he announced that he was leaving the club and the French league, and PSG did not organize any farewell event for him on the 11th, in the last match played at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
The last match left for PSG this season is the Cup final that the capital team will play next Saturday in Lille against Lyon, and in it Mbappé will have another opportunity, if he is called up by Luis Enrique, to say goodbye with another qualification.
