Last year the Madrid City Council recorded 700 accidents related to electric scooters in which the Municipal Police had to intervene, the acting municipal government spokesperson, Inmaculada Sanz, reported this Thursday.

In the press conference after the Governing Board, Sanz stated that the conflict with these vehicles resides more in the “trucajes”, that is to say, in the modifications that some people make to the engines to reach more speed, than in others. issues such as accidents, and it is in these circumstances that the Municipal Police acts more, he has detailed.

“There is greater action by the Municipal Police with respect to this mode of mobility, which has come to stay in our city and has to be incorporated into daily activity”, commented the also acting Security and Emergency delegate.

“There are breathalyzer controls, compliance with road safety regulations is controlled and, therefore, it has more to do with that and with greater action by the Municipal Police,” he added.
