UVALDE (Texas) — On Sunday, mourners remembered a girl who dreamed of becoming an artist and whose joy at reaching the age of 10 charmed hearts all over the globe.
Alithia Ramirez, along with her two teachers, was one of the 19 children killed when an 18-year old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School, Uvalde, Texas with an AR-15-style rifle. Alithia’s funeral will be held at First Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon. Funerals will continue until mid-June.
Alithia Ramirez, ten years old, was a caring and loving girl who loved drawing.
According to her obituary, she was smart and a “very loving young lady who dreamed of going to Paris Art School.” She was reliable and always wanted to look after everyone. She was also a role model for her siblings.
KENS-TV reported that Alithia’s parents met President Joe Biden on May 29 at Uvalde. They claimed that Biden asked for one of their drawings to hang in his White House.
Ryan Ramirez stated that Biden said to the parents, “Whenever we hang it up we will send you a photo of where it is hanging and you can see it at any time.”
Ryan Ramirez ran to Robb Elementary after hearing about the shooting. KTRK-TV asked him if he wanted to find his daughter, and then he said yes.
Alithia died on April 28th. A photo of her was shared around the globe. She smiled broadly in a tie-dye shirt that said “Out of single numbers” and “I am 10”.
Later, her father posted the same photo on Facebook without any words but Alithia adorned angel wings.
This is a nightmare for parents. Ryan Ramirez said Wednesday that this is the worst of all the worst.
