Las Fallas are the national popular festivals most searched for on Google by Spaniards, followed by the April Fair, Sanfermines or the Carnival of Cádiz. It emerges from a study carried out by Agenciaseo.eu for the Cluster of Innovative Companies for Tourism of the Valencian Community (Adestic) on the interest of the fallas festivals on the internet in 2022 and which reveals that this continues to rise in 2023.
The report, which analyzes the volume of searches by provinces and countries in the most popular search engine in the world, also points out that the interest of users increases considerably in the months of January and February, on the dates prior to the celebration of the Valencian party. In fact, in 2023 the monthly average of searches nationwide was 315,840, which represents an increase of 15.27% compared to the same period last year, in which the average was 261,590.
In addition, in the ranking by provinces, the Google users who show the most interest in Las Fallas, after those of Valencia, with 31.9% of searches, are residents of the province of Madrid, with 17 .9%, followed by those of Barcelona, ??with 12.8%, those of Alicante, with 3.8%, and those of Seville, with the same percentage.
Worldwide, the average monthly search for Fallas in January and February 2023 was 1,024,440, that is, 16.59% more than in 2022, which was 878,680. After Spain, with 32%, Google users from Italy were the most interested, with 6.6%, those from the United States, with 6.6%, and those from Mexico, with 5.3%. , and those of Argentina, with 2.9%.
In addition, search trends suggest that what interests potential visitors the most are, in this order, the mascletaes, the dates of the Fallas, the Nit del Foc, the Fallas concerts, what to see in Valencia and the Cremà. .
On the other hand, the words related to the Valencian festival most sought after by Spaniards are “Fallas Valencia”, “Fiesta Fallas” and “Fallas”. In the rest of the countries, the most popular terms to search for this party are “Fiesta Fallas”, “Fallas Spain”, “Celebration Fallas”, “Fallas Valence” or “Festa Fallas”.
