BTS, the K-pop supergroup is taking a break. The South Korean boy group announced their decision during a long dinner that they recorded and shared on social networks.

According to the translation of their video, RM, the leader of the group, said that BTS was unique from other groups.

He continued to state that after many years of work, the group had lost its direction.

Hybe Entertainment Company, which represents the band, issued this statement: “To be precise, they aren’t on hiatus, but will take some time to explore solo projects at the time and remain active with various formats.”

The video shows the members of BTS sitting at a long table and enjoying a variety of food and beverages. The wall is decorated with balloons and the words “BTS Festa”.

BTS was officially launched in 2013. Jin, Suga and J-Hope are nearly 30 years old and have been together for several years, achieving global success and becoming one the most popular music groups in the world.

They recently used their influence and sent a message against anti Asian hate to the White House last month.

Jin said that their work felt more automated after all the time.

He said, “I also have my own hobbies and things that I want to do alone.”

Suga stated in the video that it has been difficult to come up with lyrics that actually mean something.

They said that the band must take a step back in order to grow and mature.

RM stated that they should do their own thing. He said, “I want BTS continue for a long period of time.”

They said they would return to work after the break.
