Juventus has sent Real Madrid and Barcelona a letter informing them that it is abandoning the Super League project in which only these three clubs remained as champions of the reform of European football.
As Efe learned this Tuesday in Italy, the two Spanish clubs have already received formal communication from Juventus. This noon, La Sexta, in its program Jugones, had already announced this possibility.
‘Juve’, after a season marked by everything extra-sporting, with the resignation of its entire Board of Directors -led by Andrea Agnelli- and with the financial and sporting sanctions in Serie A, is getting out of the project after the formation of a new directive.
The departure of the Turin team comes at a time when UEFA was expected to rule with a new sanction on the ‘Vecchia Signora’ to leave it without European competitions for the coming seasons due to what is known as the ‘Prism Investigation’, which includes the capital gains case and salary maneuvers during the pandemic.
The sanctions, first of 15 points and later reformulated to 10 units, have left ‘Juve’ seventh in the table, occupying the place in the Conference League
