The Junts councilors demand that Mayor Collboni’s government respond to the citizen demands of Fort Pienc and modify the ongoing works on what is already known in the neighborhood as “the stairs of shame.”

A few days ago La Vanguardia echoed the complaints of the neighborhood association on this side of the Eixample about the construction of the stairs that will save the tracks connecting the two tram lines through Diagonal Avenue to the height of Castillejos street. The steps already arranged there before the works were already very steep, but given the cement ramp on which the new ones will be placed, the neighbors understand that the matter is already going beyond dark brown, that the elderly or those who push a stroller will not will be able to save them, that a ramp should also be put in place to alleviate the difficulties.

The Junts councilor and president of the Eixample district, Joan Rodríguez, after visiting the place, demands that the PSC executive rectify it in order to facilitate the mobility of the residents and prevent the tram passage from becoming a wall to their passing through Fort Pienc.

“These works should have served to improve mobility, to pacify the neighborhood, to make life easier for citizens,” adds Rodríguez, “but what they have achieved is that there is a three-meter wall with stairs under construction that no one with some reduced mobility will be able to overcome.”
