Jardins Terramar, Sitges’ summer festival, warms up with the presentation of its definitive line-up including Kraftwerk and Manuel Turizo, who put the icing on the cake of a line-up with a notable international presence in an event that brought together a total of 26,350 spectators at its last edition.
The Germans Kraftwerk, pioneers of electronic music, will bring their sound based on the use of synthesizers, drum machines and other electronic instruments seasoned with the visual spectacles that have made them a benchmark since their founding in the seventies by Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider.
For his part, the Colombian Manuel Turizo, one of the main Latin artists of the moment, will bring to the Sitges stage hits such as Una Lady Como Tú, La Bachata, Culpables or Quiéreme While You Can.
In addition, the Jardins de Terramar will host performances by artists such as the French Zaz, Sara Baras, the Italian Zucchero Fornaciari, Malú, Niña Pastori or the incombustible Tom Jones, who will give his only concert this summer in Catalonia in Sitges on August 3 of their ages
The Jardins Terramar will open its doors on July 28 with Els Amics de les Arts, who will present their new work Allà on volia, which will be presented this Friday. A performance that will be preceded by that of Suu, the young Barcelonan voice who will present Karaoke 2023. Other groups that will bring their tours to the festival are Blaumut, who celebrate their tenth anniversary with a symphony concert accompanied by the Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona. Likewise, Antonio Orozco will perform on August 9 as part of his “Half Antonio half Orozco” tour, which will mean the closing of the festival.
In the presentation held this Wednesday at the Prado Theater in Sitges with the presence of the mayoress, Aurora Carbonell, the co-director of the festival, Joan Ramon Rodríguez, stressed the importance of winning the bidding process for the next four years, which contributes stability to an event that generates an economic impact of almost 7 million euros in the territory according to a study by The Watsons consultancy.
Coinciding with the festival, this year the first professional conferences “Terramar inspires: Festivals, molt més que música” will be held on November 9 and 10. The conferences will combine presentations by experts in the sector on the contribution of music festivals in areas such as culture or tourism with a program of concerts.
