The House Select Committee that investigated the January 6th insurrection on the U.S. Capitol began to present its findings Thursday in the first of a series high-profile public hearings. The panel presented videos of former President Trump’s aides, who testified that Trump’s claims of a stolen election weren’t true. Some spoke in more colorful terms. The committee aims to prove that the chaos at the Capitol was not spontaneous but an orchestrated subversion American democracy. They also claim that former President Trump was involved in the plot. Also, the hearing featured video footage of the Proud Boys who were at the Capitol that day. We talk to Nick Quested, a documentary filmmaker who shot some footage of the attack and who testified before this committee on Thursday.
