The Israeli Army this Saturday urged the inhabitants of Gaza City to “immediately” evacuate the neighborhoods of Jabalia, Al Daraj al Tufah and Al Shuyaiya to “preserve their safety.”

“We urge them to urgently evacuate, because it is dangerous for them to remain there,” the Army said in a brief statement in Arabic.

The announcement comes just moments after hundreds of people from Al Shifa hospital, the largest in Gaza, were evacuated from the medical center. Among those displaced are medical personnel and seriously injured people and amputees without access to ambulances. The Gaza Ministry of Health affirms that the escape occurs after the threat from Israel, while Israeli troops claim to have facilitated the exit at the request of the center’s medical staff.

In the call to evacuate the neighborhoods of the Palestinian territory, the Israel Defense Forces pointed out that they will implement what they call a “temporary tactical suspension of military activities” in these areas between 10:00 and 14:00 local time (one hour less GMT). .

The note asks the inhabitants of the three neighborhoods to head towards the Salah al Din road, which is the road through which Israeli troops are allowing evacuation.

Likewise, the Army specifies that the Salah al Din evacuation route will remain open until 4:00 p.m. local time.

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been forced to move from the north to the south of Gaza, due to the Israeli military offensive, which has already caused 1.7 million displaced people and more than 16,000 deaths.

Medical sources and the Ministry of Health in Gaza today denounced the forced evacuation of the Al Shifa hospital, the largest in the Strip, endangering the lives and health of dozens of patients, an extreme that the Israeli Army has denied.
