Penélope Cruz turned 50 last Sunday, April 28 and, as it could not be otherwise, such a special anniversary deserved a celebration in style. As an appetizer, a Bad Bunny concert two weeks ago – which she attended accompanied by her husband, Javier Bardem – at the Barclay’s Center pavilion in Brooklyn, New York (USA); in what was an incredible night for the protagonist of Madres Paralelas.
However, it was not the only surprise, because on the night of her birthday, the actress once again celebrated this special anniversary in style. She did it again with the city of New York in the background, in one of her iconic skyscrapers, where she gathered together with her husband many of her dearest friends to toast this new return to the sun.
Well-known friends, as famous faces such as Robert de Niro, Irina Shayk, Matt Damon and designer Riccardo Tisci gathered alongside the Oscar-winning couple, who described the night as “magical.”
At Penelope’s side, some of her closest friends could not be missing either. Next to her were Goya Toledo, whom she has known since she was just a teenager and whom she considers her sister; and Mexican actress Salma Hayek, who became Penelope’s unconditional supporter the moment she first set foot in Hollywood, and has remained by her side ever since.
As it could not be otherwise, alongside Penélope Cruz was her beloved Pedro Almodóvar, who has given her so much joy on a professional level. Rosalía appeared with him, who did not hesitate to wish Penélope Cruz a happy birthday with the best of her smiles.
Among other illustrious guests, Ricky Martin could be seen, with whom the actress shared the set during the filming of American Crime Story, addressing the death of Gianni Versace and with whom she established a connection that today has become an unbreakable friendship. Also renowned actors such as Robert de Niro or Maggie Gyllenhaal, who did not want to miss the event.
Surrounded by very good friends, who enjoyed the party and watching the actress blow out her 50th birthday candles on a spectacular cake, in which she made several wishes while her husband watched her excitedly.
The actress has achieved everything on a professional level, but also on a personal level. She and Bardem have become one of the most established and famous couples in our cinema. Both have managed to have great stability both professionally and in their family life, with their two children, Leo (13) and Luna (11), whom they have kept out of the spotlight since they were born.
