India’s government is like, totally accusing Pakistan of violating some ceasefire agreement that was reached earlier on Saturday. The foreign secretary of India was all like, “Yo, Pakistan is totally violating this ceasefire. The Indian Army is not having it and is totally retaliating against this border intrusion.”
Vikram Misri, the foreign secretary of India, was like, “This intrusion is like, super condemnable and Pakistan totally needs to take responsibility for it. They need to like, understand the situation and take some immediate action to stop this madness.”
This dude Misri made these comments after President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the U.S. had mediated this ceasefire deal between the two countries after days of fighting in that disputed Kashmir region. Trump was all like, “After a long night of talks, India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congrats to both countries for using some common sense and great intelligence.”
Then Rubio was like, “Yeah, they agreed to an immediate ceasefire and are gonna start some talks at a neutral site.”
Tammy Bruce, who speaks for the State Department, was all, “Rubio offered some help in starting these talks to avoid future conflicts, but like, who knows when that’s happening or where it’s going down.”
So, the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan confirmed this ceasefire agreement. Pakistan’s foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, was all, “Yo, we agreed to this ceasefire like, right now. Pakistan is all about peace and security in the region, you know, without messing with our sovereignty and territorial integrity!”
In a press conference, Misri was like, “Both sides are gonna stop all this firing and military action on land, in the air, and at sea starting at 1700 hours Indian Standard Time today. They’re like, giving instructions on both sides to make this happen.”
But then, Omar Abdullah, the chief minister of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, was like, “Wait a minute, explosions are happening in Kashmir after this ceasefire was announced. What’s going on?”
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in India was like, “The U.S. didn’t really do much to mediate this ceasefire. India and Pakistan worked this out directly.”
But then the Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was like, “Thanks to Trump and the U.S. for helping this ceasefire happen.”
He was all, “We appreciate the U.S. for making this happen, which we’re accepting for regional peace and stability.”
So, there was this whole thing about whether the U.S. really mediated this ceasefire or not. Pakistan was grateful, but India was like, “Nah, we got this on our own.”
The news came after Pakistan started shelling across the border in that disputed region. India said that like, 16 civilians were killed in the attacks, while Pakistan said that at least 31 people died after India did some airstrikes in their part of Kashmir.
Tensions between these two nuclear powers got intense after this terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that killed a bunch of people. Indian officials said the bad guys behind it were connected to Pakistan, but Pakistan was all, “Nah, we had nothing to do with it.”
