In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see these shocking images of the Saharan environment that has appropriated the Sau swamp.

As can be seen in the photographs, the earth is not only cracked as a result of the persistent drought, but the strong haze is noticeable in the surroundings.

The haze is making itself more noticeable again in recent days in Catalonia and, in this case, it adds to the lack of water in the Sau reservoir, creating this Saharan atmosphere.

Calima is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs precisely in the presence of Saharan octopus in the atmosphere.

The Sau reservoir, in the municipality of Vilanova de Sau, at the foot of the Guilleries massif, belongs to the Ter river basin. In the images you can see the cliffs around the swamp.

The reservoir, inaugurated in 1962, covered the town of Sant Romà de Sau, the remains of which, especially the Romanesque church, are visible in these times of drought.
