A 15-year-old woman had been stabbed to death at a grocery store through an alleged struggle with four other girls, all of whom were younger than she ever was.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm Saturday, Jan. 23 in a grocery shop in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as soon as a fight took place between a 15-year-old woman and four other females between the ages of 12 and 14.

The cause and the motive of the altercation is currently unknown however, during the episode, the 15-year-old woman was stabbed along with the sufferer was subsequently transported to a nearby area hospital where she died. Where she was stabbed on her own body and her cause of death has not yet been divulged.

“In last night’s casethey stole knives from the actual shop where they were in. It is actually heart-breaking when we need to come in and pick up the pieces because a lot of families are damaged after this,” explained Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso in a media conference on Sunday night.

He also disclosed that much of the evidence that police could gather came directly from videos posted to social websites.

“Our entire case unfolded before us live Facebook and Instagram… we’ve got videos of everything which happened and it is very upsetting,” said Mancuso. “The murder has been played out on [social media] so, again, there appeared to be no remorse. It was very cold to see 12, 13, 14 and 15-year-olds behaving this way and we as a society can not tolerate it. We cannot let this plague and take over our community”

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office explained the four females — aged 14, two women who are 13 and 12 — were all booked into the juvenile detention center and one was charged with second degree murder whereas the other three were charged with main to second degree murder.

The analysis is now ongoing and Mancuso indicated that there may be other arrests involved with the situation.

Said Mancuso:”Here is the third homicide in six months that we’ve experienced that involved juveniles that range from 11 to 16 years of age. They come from all backgrounds, all races. This is just a problem that we are having with children using weapons.”
