The Generalitat and the Diputación de Lleida will allocate 920,000 euros for the purchase and restoration of Vallmanya’s house in Alcarràs (Lleida) where the president of the Generalitat in the second Republic, Francesc Macià, spent seasons.
Of this amount, 120,000 euros will be invested in acquiring the property, until now privately owned, and the rest will be used to restore the house, which has been in a state of abandonment for years.
This is contemplated in the agreement between both administrations and the Alcarràs City Council to recover this historical heritage.
The council’s forecast is that next year emergency works will be carried out to stop the deterioration of the house, which will consist of shoring up the structure and changing the roof, and that by 2025, restoration works will begin.
