Almost 40 degrees in the shade, there is no consolation. Or if. Plunging into a pool located on a floor as high as our desire to take our feet off the asphalt can become the best of urban plans. There are many pools in hotels in Madrid, but most are only accessible to those who stay. We present five possibilities open to the public where you can soak up and treat yourself to other whims. Who said that today’s pools only offer towels?

El Cielo de Alcalá, the rooftop of the H10 Puerta de Alcalá hotel (c/ Alcalá, 66), houses many treasures. Among them, an aquatic and very refreshing one: a spectacular glass-enclosed pool through which you can see the Retiro and the Puerta de Alcalá. A refuge from the high temperatures as appetizing as its bar area with a gazebo and its restaurant service, between Mediterranean delicacies and signature cocktails. All this, in the heart of the Salamanca district.

Can you imagine a brunch with a dip? This is what the hotel has devised, from Monday to Thursday, to combat the hot summer. The original proposal includes access to the pool from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., a loan towel, and brunch service at the table, which will be served in a single shift from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. The menu consists of a welcome cocktail, coffees, herbal teas and juices, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries of the day, focaccia and toasts, as well as tempting hot dishes. Its price? €50 per person.

Behind Nuevos Ministerios, on the eighth floor of the NYX Hotel Madrid (c/ del Aviador Zorita, 34), looms a small oasis: a pool that will transport whoever tries it to an idyllic setting for an almost Caribbean vacation. It can be enjoyed from ten in the morning to eight in the evening, from Monday to Thursday, with prior reservation and at a cost for external clients of €30 (with towel and drink).

If you want to add other factors such as a Balinese bed, a bottle of cava and a spectacular fruit tray to the equation of pleasure, the cost rises to €120 per day. In addition, the terrace offers you the hotel’s restaurant services and signature cocktails. You can also delight your eyes with the works of art scattered throughout the roof, such as the goddess NYX, the DOA OA mural or the paintings by Lula Goce.

An inalienable plan is what UMusic Hotel Madrid (c/ de la Paz, 11) offers you to enjoy its pool located on the fourth floor and face the heat of Madrid from the very heart of the city, a few meters from the door del Sol. Alone or accompanied, without the need to stay at the hotel, your Splash Pass promises wonders.

From Monday to Friday, the individual day pass is priced at €120 and includes use of the pool from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., courtesy water, two cocktails made with the GH Mumm brand of champagne, a tray of assorted sushi, fresh cut fruit and two scoops of ice cream. If you come accompanied, the Splash Pass for two people offers you the same (in this case, a bottle of Mumm or Mumm Ice) for €220 per couple. With the arrival of the weekend, Saturdays and Sundays are slightly more expensive: €160 (pass for one) and €295 (pass for two).

For the first time in its history, the exclusive VP Plaza España Design hotel (Plaza de España, 5) opens the doors of its sophisticated private pool, located on the 12th floor of the hotel, to visitors and residents of the capital. Of course, the experience is reserved for a maximum of four lucky people per day. Not one more! The proposal comes with two possibilities: ViP Sunday! swimming pool

Those who choose the first option will have access to the hotel pool and one of its sophisticated rooms from eleven in the morning until seven in the evening. In addition, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at Ginkgo Restaurant

The ViP Sunday! Pool

As every year, the start of the summer season in Madrid is marked by the reopening of the pool and beach club of the emblematic Hotel Emperador (c/ Gran Vía, 53), located on the tenth floor. Free for guests and paid for the rest of the users, the iconic space has its famous swimming pool, which dates from 1948; solarium, chill out, 120 hammocks, area with Balinese beds and snack bar. In addition to its unique sky-bar, where you can enjoy the best cocktails with impressive panoramic views.

From ten in the morning to nine at night, the full-day entrance to the pool (with towel, hammock and a glass of Moët Ice) costs €60 (Monday to Thursday) and €75 ( Friday, weekend and holidays). If you want to elevate this relaxing experience even more in the midst of the bustle of Gran Vía, the entrance with a Balinese bed guarantees you access to the pool, a towel, a bottle of Moët Ice and a plate of seasonal fruit. Prices vary depending on the number of people: €220 (two people from Monday to Thursday), €330 (four people from Monday to Thursday), €280 (two people on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays) and €390 ( four people on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).
