Firefighters were called to battle a vegetation fire in Palermo on Saturday afternoon. The fire, which has been named the ‘Junes fire’ by fire officials, broke out in the area of Four Junes Way and Palermo Honcut Hwy. Cal Fire Butte County reported that as of 3:44 p.m., the fire had spread to 50 acres with a dangerous rate of spread. Two structures are currently being threatened, with both of them already involved in the fire.

To combat the blaze, multiple air and ground resources are being utilized by fire crews. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is currently in the process of evacuating residents in the South and East of Junes Way. Residents in the affected areas are urged to follow evacuation orders and warnings issued by authorities. Evacuation orders have been issued for Zones 906 and 905 in Honcut due to the fire, as well as for the area east of zone 907 Four Junes Way and south of Four Junes Way in zone 911 in Honcut. Additionally, evacuation warnings have been issued for Zones 922, 924, and 925 in Bangor, as well as for Zones 906 and 905 in Honcut.
