Ferran Jutglà signs for Bruges

Ferran Jutglà is already a new Bruges player. The Belgian club pays 5 million euros to Barça, who will reserve 10 percent of a future sale. However, the Catalans will not have a buy-back option on the striker. Jutglà becomes Barça’s first sale of the summer and his transfer, like that of Coutinho, may be accounted for in the financial year of the 2021-22 season and will help lighten the club’s wage bill.

After an excellent season with Barça B and a good contribution to the first team, Jutglà decided to look for a new destination when the Blaugrana club told him that they did not have him for the first team. He leaves after having scored 19 goals with Barça B in 32 games that have made him the top scorer in the 1st RFEF. He also scored twice more for the first team. In the League against Elche and another in the Copa del Rey in Linares. He returned to Barça B when the entity signed Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and Adama in the January market.

And he has enjoyed all of it. “I have thought a lot about how to say goodbye to you. But it is very difficult for me. It has been the best season of my short career. I have learned many things here, but above all, to give thanks every day for everything that It was happening,” said Jutglà, who said goodbye with a message on Instagram.

The striker from Sant Julià de Vilatorta traveled to Belgium on Monday to undergo a medical check-up and finalize the details of his contract. Jutglà arrived at the club free last summer, when he finished his contract with RCD Espanyol, who did not want to renew him because he did not see him as a projection.

As a child, Ferranet, as his relatives call him, dreamed of being an elite footballer. “Can you imagine that one day we play in the First Division?” He would always say to his friends with a ball at his feet on the Sant Julià pitch. Ferran had a long way to go to achieve his dream of debuting in the First Division. But he was always persistent. After training at Vic Riuprimer, Espanyol had their eye on him. It was David Fernández, a former Espanyol base football coach, who brought him into Infantil A perico.

His path was not exactly pleasant. Espanyol stopped counting on him after his time as a cadet, also Damm. But Ferran did not give up his dream. He started again at Vic in the first year of youth. His parents, who had a family business – two pastry shops that did not work well due to the economic crisis – were always an example for the footballer, who learned to solve problems with effort and work. The Bellvitge Unification captured him in his second year of youth and he went there every day by train.

The following year Ferran signed for Sant Andreu. In the quatribarrat team, in the Juvenile Honor Division, he had David Prats, Toni Lobo and Sergio García as coaches, now in Xavi’s coaching staff. In the second section of that same course, Valencia noticed him. It was the first time he left home. He had a bad time and came back.

Espanyol signed him for three years to loan him back to Sant Andreu. Jutglà was a starter in one of the best quatribarrat teams in living memory. He made enough merits so that, now, Espanyol had him. Jutglà scored seven goals in his first year with the subsidiary and five in the second, in which his teammates elected him captain. One of those goals was scored in the Johan Cruyff in the derby with a kiss included in the shield because those who know him affirm that Jutglà is from the team he defends. Espanyol decided not to renew it. And Barça appeared, who had already put the magnifying glass on him. It was eÀlex Garcia who, with the support of the subsidiary’s former coach, Garcia Pimienta, insisted on those then responsible for the Roura and Altimira academy for the Blaugrana team to sign him. It was also a market opportunity because he arrived free.

It has not disappointed and leaves a good memory. At the age of 22 he made his debut at the Camp Nou and debuted as a scorer with the first team against Elche. The player has been happy in his year as a Barça player. He has jumped. His adventure continues. Now in Belgium. “Thanks to the people I’ve worked with over the years: the club’s professionals and teammates. You’re incredible and I’ve learned a lot from you,” said the footballer, who is also extremely grateful to the fans for the opportunity they gave him. Barcelona and that has placed him in the showcase of a team that will play in the next edition of the Champions League.
