The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has appeared before the media to send a “clear and forceful” message in the face of information that suggests that the popular party is willing to accept a conditional pardon for Puigdemont.

“I have said no, I said no and I continue to say no to any Amnesty because it is illegal, unconstitutional and because it breaks the principle of equality between all Spaniards,” Feijóo assured the media in Ferrol, adding that “it is not “they give none of the conditions for any possible pardon.”

The popular leader has stressed that he said “yes” and that he once again “says yes to the Justice investigation for any alleged act of terrorism or any alleged connection between the independence movement and the Putin regime” of the Catalan leaders during the process. .

The Galician leader has indicated “to all Spaniards” that the PP is “very clear” about what it defends: “We are going to continue defending the equality of citizens and we have no doubt and we have not had any,” he concluded.

Feijóo makes these statements after the commotion generated when it became known that he would be open to granting a pardon to former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, although conditional on him being held accountable before Justice, serving his sentence, requesting a pardon and also renouncing the illegal referendum and the independence through unilateral means.
