After a year of waiting, the big night of Spanish cinema returned this Saturday. The Valladolid Fair hosted the celebration of the 38th edition of the Goya Awards. There were many outstanding moments that left both the red carpet and the gala, and although most were funny and emotional anecdotes, there was also room for somewhat strange anecdotes. One of them involved the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and Inés Hernand, a RTVE reporter.
“Pedro Sánchez, obviously, not Pedro Almodóvar,” says the reporter, while the President is speaking in a press corral, along with other colleagues of the young woman. “Right now the camera is focusing on Pedro Sánchez, guys, I’m going to tell you something,” explains Inés. It is then that the politician is heard saying that he has attended the gala to “individually” support the film industry.
That’s when the RTVE worker turns her ear and listens to everything that the leader of the Socialist Party explains to her colleagues. “I have a question to ask, because he is stating the obvious, what is he going to say,” says the reporter, being totally sincere in front of the camera. “I’m getting overwhelmed,” she says, among all the hubbub of people, and she even wonders if she has a fever.
At that precise moment, the leader of the Spanish government leaves the press corral behind and she runs towards him to ask him a question that left no one indifferent. “Mr. President, what was the last movie she saw?” says Inés. “Well, many, I can’t tell you one,” Sánchez answers between laughs. “Did you like Snow Society?” she then asks him. “Man, I didn’t like it, I loved it,” she says.
At that moment, overcome with emotion, the reporter completely loses her composure and begins to scream with excitement, happy to have been able to ask Sánchez, one of the most prominent faces who attended the gala, a question. “You’re an icon, president, we love you!” she shouts, visibly euphoric.
On the networks, many joked about the reporter’s attitude. “She just had to throw her panties at him,” says one user on X. “She had an orgasm live, right?”, jokes another. Others celebrate the moment. “She hadn’t seen it! Thank you for this great moment, Inés, wonderful as always,” says one user.
