In this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we invite you to photographically explore the town of Siurana, both its charming streets and corners and the surrounding landscapes.

Siurana is flanked by the Montsant mountain range, and by peaks such as La Gritella (1089 meters) and Gallicant (1028 meters).

Settled on a huge limestone rock, it was declared a picturesque spot in 1961. It is reached by a paved track from the town of Cornudella, and also by a forest road from Prades. It can also be accessed on foot by various roads and trails, frequently used by neighbors, climbers and hikers.

Among its natural landscapes, rock formations such as the Siuranella twin rock, the Salto de la Reina Mora or La Trona, and the Arbolí cliffs, frequented by climbing enthusiasts, stand out.

In the town we can visit the church of Santa María, a single-story Romanesque building from the 12th century, with a notable lateral portal. We also find some Arab vestiges, such as the remains of the castle of Walí Almira Alemoni. In fact, Siurana was the last taifa kingdom to be reconquered from all of Catalonia, in the year 1153.
