In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can contemplate the unique Roure de la Senyora, majestic and centennial (it could be more than 400 years old). It is the only listed monumental tree in Lluçanès.
It is a large oak (Quercus humilis), as can be seen in the photograph, with a fairly rounded crown that reaches 25-30 meters in diameter, a trunk perimeter of 410 centimeters, and a total height close to 15 meters.
It is so large that some of the majestic branches of the oak, specifically those that are at a lower height, are propped up with trunks as they cannot support their own weight.
As is popularly explained, the number of Roure de la Senyora comes from the rich heiress (pubilla) of Cerdanya, Lotgarda de Pedrals, with whom the heir of Vilar married in the middle of the 19th century.
There are all kinds of facilities to be able to enjoy the view of this unique tree, which is reached by a road conditioned for people with different mobility.
Around the oak, which is located at the base of a rocky slope, there is a space with benches, which also allow you to contemplate the beautiful landscape of Sant Boi de Lluçanès.
