The Sentmenat City Council has created a small itinerary for parents and children, known as the Ruta dels Tionets, which we have visited in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.

It is located in the Guanta forest and you can walk among several tio and leave food for them, but it is also useful to learn details about this Christmas tradition.

This route allows you to enjoy the places closest to the town of Sentmenat, with the exuberant nature in the stream and the landscape of the Salt de Guanta. But it also runs through the fields, where we can learn about the agricultural and architectural heritage.

We will pass together to Can Fruitós or Can Senosa, as well as through water channels and ponds, vineyard huts, the Font del Bou and even an abandoned aqueduct.

The route of this route, which begins at Plaça de la Vila and the Sentmenat castle, runs along wide tracks and beautiful paths. The ups and downs are generally gentle, except in the vicinity of Salt de Guanta.
