Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate. That is the chosen title that Lucasfilm (The Walt Disney Company) has chosen for the next Indiana Jones movie, the fifth, which will hit theaters on June 23. There were many fans who made their bets on social networks, the latter social while the study remained silent. This Friday, finally, the mystery has been revealed, as well as the official trailer of the film.

The 105 seconds that the advance lasts are not enough to glimpse the plot. In fact, both Lucasfilm and Disney already warned months ago that they would try not to give too many details until the date approaches.

What is clear is one thing: at 75, Harrison Ford is in top shape to face dozens of action scenes and many other obstacles. And it is that the trailer begins with dizzying jumps from Indiana between vehicles driving at full speed. Furthermore, he can be seen taking a chance on a moving train and riding a motorcycle in heavy rain. But, despite all this action, Indy, as he is popularly known, is also entering a new professional stage: teaching.

“I’m very proud to say that this version is fantastic, and this is one of the reasons,” Harrison Ford said during Disney’s annual convention, D23 Expo, pointing to actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), making her debut. in the saga as the goddaughter of Indiana Jones.

Fifteen years after the start of the saga, the film marks the return of Ford in the shoes of the mythical archaeologist along with a main cast also made up of other figures such as Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann or Antonio Banderas, who advanced recently that he would be a friend of the protagonist.

This will be the first film in the saga that will not be directed by Steven Spielberg, who this time will be in charge of production in a move that months ago was defined by himself as a strategy to “connect with new viewers.” In his place, James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari and Logan) will take the helm, who also wrote the script with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.

Who will repeat the experience is the composer John Williams, in charge of creating the soundtrack whose song Helena’s Theme was already previewed on September 4 during one of his summer concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The fifth installment will be the last adventure of Indiana Jones on the big screen, but the Disney platform is already developing a parallel series that would be based on the famous archaeologist’s own goddaughter, Helena, who would take over as the new protagonist.
