Friday Deluxe had Eugenia Santana, who was Miss Spain in 1992, on the set just a few days after suffering a major nervous breakdown that took her to the hospital after the Police came to her house. In this reappearance, the model announced the ordeal that she suffers because of the bipolarity that she suffers.
The Canarian was one of the great faces of television in the 90s, coming to present programs such as El tobogán, from Telecinco, and El gran juego de la oca, together with Pepe Navarro. What seemed like it should be a meteoric career came to a screeching halt after starring in the series Three Sons for Myself, which ended up being canceled due to low ratings.
After time in oblivion, viewers were able to see her again as a contestant on GH VIP and The Island of the Famous, once again being left off television. Faced with this bad luck at work, Eugenia went so far as to say in an interview at Deluxe that it is all because there is “a black hand” that is behind them.
After a long time without appearing in the media, in the last hours it has been known that he has had a major nervous breakdown for which his own sister came to call the Police. The intervention of the agents ended in a hospital admission that was caused by a complicated mental health problem.
“I would like to apologize to my family, I have made them suffer a lot,” he began by saying as soon as he sat next to Maria Patiño on the set of Viernes Deluxe. She commented that the decision to go to the interview was very difficult and that she was about to reject the invitation at the last moment.
The separation from her husband, the Venezuelan model José FarÃa, was the beginning of her problems because “it was quite dramatic” and “there was gender violence.” Although she endured “the bad life” that he gave her for a long time, her great support was her mother, of whom she said that she was her great confessor.
After the complicated separation, she suffered a new blow when she discovered that her mother suffered from a rare disease that she herself also suffers from: “I have inherited Cadasil disease from my mother.” From that moment, she decided to focus on taking care of herself until just a few months ago, when she passed away.
Before this bad news arrived, Eugenia Santana began to suffer some crises that worried her family about her behavior: “My brothers worried about me when she began to forget to eat and bathe.” These increasingly frequent crises meant that during the last month of her mother’s life she was not with her.
“I have been diagnosed with bipolarity. Suddenly I was lying in bed and the following week I wanted to eat the world,” he acknowledged before the cameras. Her situation was so bad that her family tried to protect her from the bad news: “I was in such bad shape that my brothers hid from me that my mother was hospitalized.”
The episode that he suffered last Tuesday, when the police had to go to his home, was the tip of the iceberg: “Six days ago they took me out of my house to put me in a psychiatric hospital.” At that moment they came to fear for his life and worried they decided to ask for help to avoid greater evils.
Although she maintains that she did not want to take her own life at any time, she does not hold a grudge for what her brothers did. In addition, the former Miss Spain sent a positive message before leaving the Telecinco set: “I have fallen many times, but I am going to keep getting up. I want to live.”
