The world of culture is in mourning. The cultural journalist Anna Pérez Pagès died early this Thursday, as confirmed by betevé – the network where she worked – due to cancer that she had been fighting for a long time.
She was director of the cultural magazine Àrtic for nine years and coordinator of cultural content for the network. In addition to her work at betevé, the journalist collaborated with many other media outlets such as Catalunya Ràdio, TV3, RAC1, Ràdio 4 and El Periódico. From betevé they have mourned her death and have highlighted that she was “an extraordinary professional, a reference in cultural journalism and, above all, an immensely generous companion of spirit and treatment.”
Pérez Pagès leaves a career of more than twenty years dedicated to cultural information and in recent years he did so from betevé, where he arrived in 2008 with Joan Barril in the QWERTY literature program. He also directed and presented the program Acena, a space for reports and interviews with a very personal look at the culture of our house. Later, in 2013, he made the jump to Àrtic, a daily cultural magazine on Barcelona public television. Pérez Pagès and the entire team were recognized with an ARC award from the music industry.
The journalist also led workshops on cultural communication and social networks at the Pompeu Fabra University and at the Venice Biennale.
