A heavy hailstorm that began to fall in the middle of the afternoon has forced the AP-7 highway to be closed in both directions as it passes through the Barcelona towns of Llinars del Vallès and Sant Celoni (Vallès Oriental).
The Catalan Traffic Service has informed that the hailstorm is also affecting traffic on the C-35, in the same region of Vallès, as well as on the C-25, between Espinelves (Girona) and Sant Julià de Vilatorta (Barcelona ).
It so happens that shortly before the AP-7 was cut off due to this meteorological incident, an accident was recorded on that road, towards Girona, which caused three kilometers of traffic jams in Santa Maria de Palautordera (Barcelona).
Trànsit asks drivers, given the hailstorm that is falling at the moment, to exercise extreme caution behind the wheel to avoid accidents.
The Department of Territory of the Generalitat has activated snow plows this Saturday late in the afternoon on the AP-7 and C-25 to remove snow and throw salt, in order to reopen traffic after the hailstorms and snowfall. The C-25 also remains closed, in this case due to snow, in both directions from Folgueroles (Barcelona) to Santa Coloma de Farners (Girona).
