The English club Chelsea reported this Saturday that it has completed the signing of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez from Brighton
The “blues” reached the agreement, estimated at 25 million pounds (29 million euros), to sign the Spanish international, 25, on Thursday, but they announced it today on their official website.
“We are very pleased to welcome Robert to Chelsea and he brings more quality to our goalkeeping unit,” Chelsea co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart said.
“Robert has proven himself repeatedly in the Premier League and has been capped by his country. We are excited to see him work with (head coach) Mauricio (Pochettino) and his coaching team over the coming season,” they added.
Sanchez, who made 23 Premier League appearances for Brighton last season, will challenge Kepa Arrizabalaga for a starting job at Stamford Bridge.
