Cádiz beat Valencia 2-1 in a key game in the fight for permanence. at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium, thanks to goals from the Argentine Gonzalo Escalante, in the first half, and from Sergi Guardiola, at the start of a second half in which Samuel Lino’s subsequent goal was insufficient for the Valencian fans. The team from Cádiz took the lead with a goal by the Argentine Escalante, finishing off a drop shot by Rubén Sobrino (m.38), after a long throw-in by Luis Hernández, and, as soon as the second half began, a play by the Uruguayan Luis Alfonso Espino converted it by Sergi Guardiola at 2-0.
Valencia closed the gap after 50 minutes through the Brazilian Samuel Lino, but did not avoid a defeat that once again made it difficult for them to save.
