I have captured this photographic report for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia in the Castell del Remei getting dirty, getting on the ground and in other positions. Geese, storks and ducks are the stars among the flowers and vineyards of this estate that forms part of the Costers del Segre designation of origin.

Castell del Remei is an agricultural land with wineries located in the Plana d’Urgell, in the municipality of Penelles (la Noguera) between Tàrrega and Balaguer, 40 km from Lleida.

The farm is flat and irrigated. It is located 300 meters above sea level, on land that is an old lake bottom that is characterized by having limestone soils.

The estate came to have 1090 hectares, the largest irrigated estate in Catalonia. The building that gives its name to the Castell del Remei has historicist and noucentista elements and is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

With the arrival of spring, the estate is in bloom and attracts migratory birds, such as storks, which join the geese of different colors and ducks.
