Barcelona will celebrate its second anniversary in 2024 with a pyrotechnic festival and the deployment of 470 drones on Maria Cristina Avenue in Barcelona by the company Groupe F, directed by Christophe Berthonneau.
The show to welcome the new year will feature 470 illuminated drones that will fill the sky of Montjuïc at 250 meters high, as reported this Wednesday by the Barcelona Institute of Culture in a statement.
The New Year’s Eve party will be a tribute to Barcelona and its relationship with the sea, in a year in which the Catalan capital and its coastline will have prominence throughout the planet, with the arrival of the America’s Cup sailing.
The celebration will have a pre-show before midnight, in which the New Year’s Eve party will begin with musical and lighting ambiance throughout Maria Cristina Avenue.
Due to the drought decree, the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc will not be able to be lit, although an immense ball of light elevated to 75 meters high will preside over the festival.
Starting at 9:00 p.m., the music will begin to set the mood and around 11:00 p.m. the light ball will be activated. At midnight, when the time comes for the turn of the year, the drones will draw the grapes in the sky.
After the quarters, twelve dry and highly effective pyrotechnic strikes will mark the twelve bells that will usher in the new year.
Once the new year has entered, the “Deseo Barcelona” show will begin, developed through a mix of technology, light and fire.
