Barcelona City Council legally protects the use of Plaza Sant Felip Neri as a school playground. The City Council published yesterday in the BOPB the initial approval of the decree that will come into force in 20 days.

For years the high school open there has fenced off the square so that the abundance of tourists does not interfere with the games and the comings and goings of the kids.

But in reality the measure is not to everyone’s liking. Not everyone is interested in restricting the passage of visitors here, in the heart of the Gothic quarter.

The main objective of this initiative is to guarantee the rights of students. In addition, it also allows the extension of the hours and calendar for the exclusive use of the square as a school playground.

Now the month of July is included, for the summer camp. And the kids also earn half an hour a day. The new hours will be from ten to eleven thirty and from twelve thirty to two thirty.
