The Banyoles City Council has put into operation four automated tilting gates in the municipality’s irrigation ditches to better regulate the flow of water from the pond. Until now it had to be done with manual gates and based on water arrival forecasts. Now, the new gates allow it to be done automatically.
This is an investment that reaches 151,000 euros and has been financed with Next Generation funds.
The commissioning of the floodgates has coincided with the arrival of water from the recent rains. In fact, this Wednesday the pond is seven centimeters above ground level, although in recent days it has been drawing water due to the forecast of more rain.
