Bank Holiday Today on June 1: Some States Closed for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

Today, on June 1, banks in certain states and Union Territories (UTs) across India will remain closed due to the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The states where banks will be closed include Bihar, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. This closure is in line with the final phase of voting in the elections, which will see 57 constituencies in eight states and UTs casting their votes to elect their representatives.

Looking ahead, June 2024 has a total of 12 scheduled bank holidays, encompassing religious festivals, regional celebrations, and weekends. Customers are advised to verify the holiday schedule with their nearest bank branch to avoid any inconvenience.
