Arrested for trying to sexually assault a 20-year-old girl after intimidating her with a knife

The Valencia Civil Guard has arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly trying to sexually assault a young woman in the Valencian town of Paiporta after intimidating her with a knife to the neck, as reported by the Armed Institute in a statement.

The investigation of Operation ‘Aguaitar’ began after the filing of a complaint by a 20-year-old girl, who indicated that on August 24 she was walking through the streets of the town, after midnight, when she was approached by a man, who She was also on foot, who put a knife to her neck and forced her to go to his house to sexually assault her. She also told him that she had drugs in her house to “have a good time.”

On the way, the young woman received a phone call from her boyfriend and, upon insistence, convinced the detainee that it would be best to answer so he would not worry. She took advantage of this moment to escape from her alleged attacker, who also fled the scene due to the impossibility of holding the victim.

The Civil Guard agents, upon learning of these events, began intense surveillance in the area, identifying those people who matched the description of the author provided by the victim. An album was thus made that was shown to the complainant during her subsequent photographic examination, where she identified her aggressor without any doubt.

Once identified, a search was carried out at the perpetrator’s home, where the clothing used on the night of the attack was found, contrasted by images from security cameras in the area.

The detainee is a 55-year-old man of Spanish nationality, who is charged with the crime of attempted sexual assault. In resolving the facts, the collaboration of the Paiporta City Council was of great help, which provided the data that was in his possession. The proceedings have been delivered to the Gender Violence Court number 1 of Torrent (Valencia).
