The National Police has arrested a man who was allegedly engaged in the cultivation and sale of marijuana inside his home in Botarell, in Baix Camp (Tarragona).
During the search, the agents seized 596 marijuana plants with an approximate value of 141,000 euros in the illegal market.
Two kilograms of marijuana buds processed and prepared for sale were also seized, as well as a short CO2 weapon, a simulated weapon, ammunition and devices for cultivation.
The arrested person has been brought before the court of investigation court number 1 of Reus. According to the police force, it is increasingly common for these plantations to be protected with real or simulated weapons to avoid robberies by rival gangs with the “growing escalation of violence.”
