Agents of the National Police of the Narcotics Group have arrested a man in Eivissa who had a marijuana plantation in the cemetery. The arrest occurred a few days ago, after verifying that the man had planted more than 50 plants next to the cemetery wall.
The agents detected his presence after it was verified that the individual went to the compound every afternoon. There they leave their car next to the wall and, at sunset, they jump over the wall to hook up to the cemetery’s water network and water the plants. There were fifty large potsherds in the outer area of ??the enclosure, but within the area of ??the cemetery. The plants were camouflaged in a wooded area that was difficult to access, next to the outer wall of the Eivissa city cemetery.
In fact, the agents caught the detainee red-handed when, at 7:00 p.m., he was jumping over the wall to hook up to the internal water network and water the plants, which was something he did almost daily. The agents took 50 marijuana plants that weighed more than six kilos, according to the Police.
The alleged perpetrator left his private vehicle parked outside the cemetery. Taking advantage of the moment when the cemetery was closed and since people were no longer passing through the area, he would jump over the wall and water the plants with water from the cemetery itself. A precision scale and 46 grams of marijuana from inside the vehicle have also been seized from the detainee, which makes the Police suspect that the crop was intended for drug trafficking.
