Ansu Fati, the 10 of FC Barcelona, ??was the protagonist in the closing ceremony of the 17th edition of the book Relats Solidaris de l’Esport, an initiative created in 2005 by a group of more than 40 Catalan sports journalists that seeks to raise funds for various solidarity initiatives thanks to its annual publication. In its 17th edition, 61,917.28 euros have been collected. As happened in the 2020 edition cut short by the coronavirus and sponsored by the then first-team coach, Quique Setién, the proceeds from the sale of the book went entirely to Pallapupas, an entity that improves the emotional state of sick people. , relatives and hospital workers through humor and theater. “It is a project that I did not doubt. I come from a humble country and family that has cost us everything. And all help is welcome”, said Ansu Fati. “Having someone make you smile is something that is always appreciated in a hospital. I know what it is. And Pallapupas is an example to follow”, pointed out the footballer.
A little less than a year ago, specifically on April 14, 2022, President Joan Laporta accompanied Fati in the presentation of the project. Fati was still injured but he was already in the final phase of his recovery. However, a year later something has changed in Fati. His return is already a reality but, despite feeling better, he still does not show the stellar version with which he amazed Barcelona. “I am lucky to be able to play for the club I am with. I want to thank the fans for their support. They know what I can offer and so do I. This year people go to the pitch a lot and I want to thank all those who trust me, I want to give them back their trust”, Fati pointed out.
Asked how he is, the Barcelona number 10 said he felt “one hundred percent, wanting to face everything that comes. Ready to help the team. The hospitals are already history, ”he added a day after beating Cádiz (2-0). The footballer wanted to close the door on a possible exit with a “I have a contract until 2027 and the intention is to continue here for many years.”
Looking ahead to the match that Barcelona will face on Thursday at Old Trafford against Manchester United without Gavi, without Pedri and without Dembélé. “We are fine and so are they. We know it will be difficult. But it is an opportunity, we go without fear and with all the illusion to pass the round. We are Barça and there is no need to be afraid of anyone, ”he added.
The 18th edition of Relats Solidaris will have Robert Lewandowski as sponsor. And the beneficiary entity will be the Fundació Lovaas, a clinical, training and research center that offers behavioral, early and intensive intervention programs for children with autism. In these 17 editions, more than 1 million euros have been raised.
