Another chance of storms, a few of which could be severe, returns Friday

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The wind was howling pretty good again on Thursday with winds gusting between 40 and 50 miles per hour at times. If you didn’t mind the wind, you got to enjoy a very nice day with highs around the 80-degree mark.

Skies will stay mostly clear tonight as the wind dies down. Expect lows to head into the low 50s.

Friday will then be bringing us a rain chance. While the day will likely start with some sunshine, **clouds**, **light rain showers**, and **thunderstorms** could be on the horizon later in the day. The potential for **strong to severe storms**, especially in northeast Nebraska, exists with the main threats being **hail** and **gusty winds**. The strongest of storms are expected to move out of the area by 10 pm, with a chance of lingering showers afterwards.

Saturday morning may still see some light rain showers before transitioning to a **partly cloudy sky** with cooler highs in the mid 70s. Sunday is forecasted to be a very nice day with **plenty of sunshine** and highs in the mid to upper 70s.

As we head into Monday, a few more **showers and thunderstorms** could develop, with temperatures remaining below average in the mid 70s. Tuesday is expected to bring similar conditions with highs in the mid 70s.

Looking ahead, warmer weather is on the horizon. Stay tuned for the latest updates on your 10-day forecast on News 4 at 5, 6, and 10.
