An incident in the Adif railway infrastructure in Chamartín registered early in the afternoon of this Thursday has affected the entire Madrid suburban network for almost an hour and a half, with delays and prolonged train stoppages.
The incident, which has affected Madrid rail traffic since 16.03, has been corrected by Adif technicians at 17.28, Cercanías Madrid reported on its Twitter account.
For safety reasons, the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif) has indicated that all conventional network services in Madrid stop at stations pending resolution.
On the same social network, Adif has reported that the incident affected the Centralized Traffic Center in Madrid, with generalized delays of 20 minutes to all Madrid suburban lines.
The collapse has been of such a magnitude that they recommended the use of alternative transportation methods.
Once the incident has been corrected, the trains have begun to resume running progressively, although they run with strong accumulated delays and may suffer arrests in some sections.
