Rainbow the cat had quite the adventure after getting lost in Yellowstone National Park. Despite being separated from his owners, Susanne and Benny Anguiano, the determined feline managed to travel over 900 miles back home with the help of his microchip. The Anguianos were visiting the park when Rainbow, a two and a half-year-old seal point mitted Siamese, wandered off on June 4.
Despite their efforts to lure him back with toys and treats, Rainbow disappeared into the forest. The couple never gave up hope of finding him, but eventually had to adopt a new cat to keep his sister company. They had rescued Rainbow and his twin sister, Starr, when they were just eleven weeks old.
After 61 days of being missing, the Anguianos received a surprising call – a cat matching Rainbow’s description had been found. He was located in Roseville, California, nearly 190 miles away from their home in Salinas. The CEO of the organization that found him, Leilani Fratis, took Rainbow to the local SPCA for care.
The woman who found Rainbow noticed that he was in poor health and took him in for a few nights before bringing him to the SPCA. It’s a mystery how Rainbow managed to travel such a long distance from Wyoming to California, but the Anguianos are relieved to have him back home.
This heartwarming story of Rainbow’s incredible journey showcases the importance of microchipping pets and never losing hope. It’s a reminder of the strong bond between humans and their furry companions, and the lengths they will go to be reunited. Rainbow’s adventure is a testament to the resilience and determination of our beloved pets.
