The Patios de Córdoba, Intangible Heritage of Humanity, have received 413,015 visitors in their first week of Municipal Competition, from last Tuesday to Sunday, which represents an average of 68,835 people per day, higher than last year but slightly lower than that achieved in 2019, a historical record for the moment.
In 2019, the last one before the pandemic, the Patios de Córdoba managed to attract 984,139 people during the 14 days that the contest lasted, one more than in 2022 and 2023, and yielded an average per day of 70,295 people, while the day The busiest was on the first Saturday, when 97,198 visitors were recorded.
Last year 2022, the second best in history in number of visits so far, the heritage sites received 852,252 people, which meant an average of 65,558 for each day of the festival, while the first Saturday was also the busiest with 89,902 registered visitors.
For the moment, this 2023 edition has already managed to score the best opening day since records were kept, with 58,231 people, while the busiest day was Saturday with 90,475 visitors, surpassing the figures of last year.
The 63 venues that can be visited, 53 within the competition and 10 outside of it, are distributed in six different routes and, as usual, the Alcázar Viejo, with 12 courtyards, is the one that registers the greatest influx in the first week contest, with 115,811 people, although its venue located at Calle San Basilio 22, is the second most visited so far, with 13,080 visitors.
The courtyard of San Basilio 22 is framed in the category of Ancient Architecture and has received more than fifteen recognitions among awards, in which the second in 2010 stands out, and runners-up or special mentions, while the structure of his house, run by Ana, dates back to the 19th century and stands out in its decorations with fleur de lis, the classic gypsy and geraniums.
But for now, the honor of being the busiest patio falls to the one at 6 MarroquÃes street, which has added 13,679 visits in this first week of the festival and is located on the Santa Marina-San AgustÃn route, which with eight venues totals 68,535 visitors, the second most visited area of ​​the contest so far.
It is the most decorated courtyard of the 21st century in the Ancient Architecture modality that accumulates nine first prizes, another four seconds and different second prizes, while it has the peculiarity that, being one of the largest in the festival, it has craft workshops and a very well preserved laundry room and kitchen.
For now, the third most visited route to date is the Jewish Quarter-San Francisco, which with nine enclosures has a total of 67,523 visitors, followed by San Lorenzo, with 10 patios and 52.24 people, Santiago-San Pedro, with nine patios and 51,504 people, and Regina Realejo, 5 courtyards and 21,929 visits, while the ten venues out of competition have accumulated 35,389 visitors.
