Alicante firefighters working tonight to extinguish the Ràfol d'Almunia fire

Emergencies of the Generalitat Valenciana have reported tonight of the fire declared at 8:42 p.m. in the Serra Segària area, in the Marina Alta region of Alicante. The Emergency Coordination Center has established situation 1 of the Special Plan against Forest Fires (PEIF) with a potential severity index of 1. Tonight 112 receives warning calls from neighbors residing in Sanet y Negrals, Pego and la Font d’ in Carrós, as reported.

The extinction work is taking place in a complicated context because, according to the AEMET, the meteorological situation is “very adverse” in the area due to the temperatures recorded today, close to 30 degrees and that at this time of night they are around 25 degrees, with wind from the west and gusts of 30 km/h, as well as a relative humidity of less than 30%.

Tonight, land resources are working, such as the 12 Firefighters of the Alicante Consortium as well as three Forest Firefighters units of the Generalitat Valenciana with three fire engines. Emergencies have also reported that around 7:40 a.m. tomorrow the air resources are scheduled to leave, if weather conditions permit.
