The National Police has once again arrested José Luis H., better known as Alcasec, the young man who hacked the Judicial Neutral Point of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and extracted the bank details of half a million taxpayers.
As police sources confirmed to EFE, Alcasec was arrested this Tuesday by agents from the General Information Commissariat (CGI) of the National Police. Apparently, the young man, 19 years old, is in prison and waiting for him to be brought to justice between Thursday and Friday.
Although the reasons for his arrest are unknown, police sources have stated that they have nothing to do with the procedure that is open in the National Court regarding the cyberattack on the CGPJ and that this is being investigated by a court in Madrid.
The detainee’s lawyer has requested habeas corpus, that is, the transfer to judicial custody immediately to analyze whether his detention is justified, something on which the judge must now decide.
Alcasec is being investigated by the judge of the National Court, José Luis Calama, together with a second person, for allegedly hacking the Judicial Neutral Point of the General Council of the Judiciary in October 2022.
In this way, they allegedly accessed and marketed data of more than half a million taxpayers who, according to the judge, would have earned them around 511,000 euros ($553,707).
Due to these events, Alcasec spent a month and a half in provisional prison until the magistrate released him, mainly for his collaboration in the procedure.
