Actor Juan José Ballesta arrested for a robbery with violence in Madrid

The National Police arrested the actor Juan José Ballesta on Tuesday accused of an alleged crime of robbery with violence. According to police sources, the interpreter, who rose to fame for his role in the film El Bola, had stolen a jacket and 50 euros in cash from an acquaintance in the Madrid district of Hortaleza. The events took place on Tuesday morning around 8:00 a.m. when Ballesta met up with his acquaintance under the pretext of recording a video clip and they got into an argument in which they ended up attacking each other.

Ballesta would have taken advantage of the fight, in which no one was seriously injured, to steal the money and the jacket, valued at about 200 euros, and after that he fled the scene in a friend’s vehicle. The victim called police while Ballesta was driving away, and later Tuesday he was located and detained. He was intercepted by the National Police at the intersection of Gomeznarro Street and Canillas Highway, near the Esperanza metro station, and arrested for the alleged robbery with violence.

The other man filed a complaint about the events and the police transferred Ballesta to the central registry of detainees at the Moratalaz police complex on Tuesday night. After spending the night in the cells, the actor is scheduled to appear in court this Wednesday to give a statement about what happened. At 10 a.m. on Wednesday he was still in the Plaza de Castilla cells, according to Europa Press.

The actor’s lawyer, Beatriz Uriarte, from the Ospina Abogados firm, has told Efe that the young man, who would be a YouTuber, stated in his complaint that he met with the famous man to talk about recording a video clip with him, but then the discussion that broke out broke out. It ended in the alleged robbery with violence. The actor, at the time of being arrested, was not carrying the money or the supposedly stolen jacket.

The actor’s lawyer, who went to the police station last night, found that Ballesta had injuries to his face and that his teeth were moving, so she recommended that he file a complaint against the other man, to which, in a At first, Ballesta rejected it by stating that he was “a friend.” According to the famous man’s statement, the young man proposed to record a video clip together but Ballesta refused, alleging that he had other projects. That was when, according to the actor, he went crazy and attacked him and prepared to leave the place.

The two had drunk alcoholic beverages and Ballesta gave 0.50 milligrams per liter (mg/l) in the breathalyzer test that the agents carried out, according to Efe.

While he is waiting to be brought to justice for this new alleged crime, Juan José Ballesta is being investigated by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Parla (Madrid) for an alleged crime of sexual assault. The events reported by the woman, who is now 47 years old, would have taken place last July in the Madrid town of Parla.

In one case, the actor is free without precautionary measures after the judge refused to impose a restraining order against the alleged victim due to alleged “contradictions” in his testimony. After giving a statement on the 7th and denying the facts, the judge two weeks ago rejected the request from Ballesta’s defense to dismiss the case and agreed to collect new evidence requested by the prosecution.

According to the victim’s complaint, both were childhood friends, in addition, they would have been neighbors for some years. The woman reports that between July 18 and 21, 2023, she was the victim of two different sexual assaults, one by a man named Raúl, who also kept her in his house for several days, and another by Ballesta, with whom He met in a bar.

“I am certainly very calm because I have nothing to do with all this,” the actor expressed on November 7 after testifying in the Parla Courts as an investigator. The lawyer reiterated that Ballesta does not know the victim and that he does not have any type of connection with her. “She will also have to be the one to prove that this relationship exists,” the lawyer warned.
