The arrival of the former Valencian president and former minister Eduardo Zaplana to the courts for the Erial case has registered a curious scene. At the doors of the City of Justice of Valencia, a woman who was waiting in line to enter through the security checkpoint (always long first thing in the morning) reproached the former minister for not keeping her turn when he had tried to enter. “I’ve been here since 9:30 a.m.,” she snapped. The scene was accompanied by gestures from the woman indicating that she should stand further behind her.
Zaplana has today declared himself accused of having collected bribes worth 20 million euros in the awards of the ITV and wind farms when he was president of the Generalitat Valenciana. The prosecutor accuses him of the crimes of criminal organization, money laundering, bribery, prevarication and document falsification.
