Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has announced through its Twitter account that a problem prevents paying for tickets in the city’s metro vending machines with a bank card.

“Due to a technical incident, currently the bank card payment system in the Barcelona metro network does not work correctly,” the tweet highlights.

As reported to La Vanguardia, the failure is general throughout the network and completely prevents the use of the machines except with bills or coins.

At the moment, both the causes of the crash and the time it will take for the problem to be resolved are unknown.
