The intense showers have caused serious incidents this afternoon in different parts of Catalonia. Especially surprising has been the storm that has fallen in Terrassa, which has received more than 110 liters in just two hours at the Lluís Companys square observatory, with the streams that came down full and the sewage network overflowing.

The 112 emergency telephone number has received in a few minutes more than 100 calls related to the storms, a number that has subsequently risen to 428 until 7:00 p.m., as explained by Protecció Civil on social networks. Meteocat has issued a warning of a 6 out of 6 risk meteorological situation due to the rains, and anticipates that they may also affect the regions of Vallès Oriental, Moianès and Baix Llobregat (Barcelona) with an intensity of more than 40 liters per square meter in 30 minutes.

The B-40 highway has had to be cut at the height of Roca del Vallès in a four-kilometre section since half past four in the afternoon this Tuesday due to the flooding caused by the storm. The C-16 has also been in a two-kilometre stretch as it passes through Terrassa, in this case since half past three in the afternoon, as have the B-40 and C-58. These last three routes have already been reopened as they pass through Terrassa.

The rain that falls in different parts of Catalonia has affected two more roads, the BP-1103 between El Bruc and Monistrol de Montserrat, in a section of eight kilometers, and the BV-3003 in Sant Mateu de Bages, at a point of 500 meters, in both cases due to landslides.

Another road that has been cut by the intense rain that has fallen throughout the afternoon in Catalonia is the C-59 in Sant Feliu de Codines in all directions.

Back in Terrassa, the Museu de la Tècnica has had to be evicted. At first, a notice was received alerting the firefighters to the collapse of a wall in the basement of the building, although later information indicates that the damage is not structural.

On the other hand, in places like Vacarisses (Vallès Occidental) 34.2 liters of water have been collected per square meter in half an hour, an amount identical to that which has fallen in Òdena (Anoia). In Fornells de la Selva there has been 32.1.

Meteocat had already activated the Inuncat plan in pre-alert due to the possibility of heavy rains with moderate danger in the Vallès Occidental between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. and high danger between 2 and 8 p.m.

Six fire brigades from the Generalitat have rescued four people who were trapped with their car in the Marganell creek, near Castellbell and El Vilar (Bages).

The events occurred when six minutes passed after 3:00 p.m. and the Bombers have assigned troops from the GRAE Subacuático. Specifically, they have set up a rappel to get them out safely.

The four rescued people are fine. This is one of the incidents derived from the storm in Central Catalonia.
